Milind Soman, model turned actor who flamed on the screen with the music video, 'Made in India', has left no stone unturned in his 20 years of Bollywood life. He has made a distinguished mark as a model, actor and even as producer of movie as well as a tele serial. The Indian supermodel was born in a Maharashtrian Chitpavan Brahmin family in Scotland on 4th November 1965. He lived in England for seven years before moving to India.

Milind Soman, the first Indian male supermodel and still is one of the most popular models of India never thought of becoming a model or an actor. He always aspired to be a swimmer. His first step to the world of glamour was not but rejection. Gravier Suiting initially rejected to hire him as a model because he looked too young to wear a suit. His breakthrough came with Thackersey fabrics. He was an electrical engineer prior to modeling.

His love life

Milind Soman was briefly engaged to model Madhu Sapre. He had done a controversial Tuff advertisement with her in which, both were shown wearing only shoes and python. In the past he was also associated with other beautiful women like Dipannita Sharma and Gul Panag. In his second production, 'Phir Zindagi' Gul Panag and Waheeda Rehman are starring.

Milind Soman got married to his long time dated girlfriend Mylene Jampanoi, a French actor on July 2006. The love story starts fumingly as Mylene admits in one of the interview that they hated each other at first sight. They first met while shooting for 'Valley of Flowers' where they were paired opposite each other. Milind took Mylene to Goa where his mother stays during one of the promotions of the movie and proposed to her. After a full-blown acceptance by the ladylove they decided to get married then and there. The marriage was followed by a simple ceremony in the presence of their families and close friends.

Not a fitness freak

Milind Soman though admired for his in shape built loves to spend time in playing games than working in gym. On one of the interview he states, "I can't go to one particular place and work out one muscle group. I prefer sports to stay in shape. I swim, run or indulge in kickboxing. A sport gives you so much more than just fitness. It also gives a spirit and attitude that can't be explained." He is 5ft, 11inch and weighs 190 lbs.

His on screen life

Supermodel Milind Soman failed to create a spark with his offbeat movies. However, the distinctive actor, who believes in trying new themes than the age-old commercial movies has not lost the limelight till date. 16th December, Rules, Pachaikili Muthucharam, Agni Varsha and Asoka are just a few to name among some of his best movies. In 2007 he will be seen in his new movies, Bhram, Say Salaam India and Bheja Fry with his new look.

Milind who had previously produced, 'Rules-Pyaar Ka Superhit Formula' turned his interesting facet by producing a tele Serial called 'Ghost Bana Dost', which premiered on December 19. He has tried to personify his own childhood fantasy and fears with the serial. As he says, ''As a child I always looked for fun, magic, and fantasy and through 'Ghost Bana Dost', with its marvelous special effects and compelling narrative, I think we have succeeded in bringing this to Indian television in a way never been seen before". The journey till date has been smooth sailing for the most sensual model ever. Hope the marital life will shower him with more prosperity and love.
